Are we gluttons for punishment?

After an activity filled couple of days, we decided to stay at the hotel today and explore what it had on offer.  So, after a leisurely breakfast ( ahem - Alpen, cooked breakfast, Danish and toast!!) we t off to discover the grounds and came across this secret Beach!

The gardens were glorious - with gardeners keen to answer any questions that you might have!

Next on the agenda were our pre booked beauty treatment - I had an Indian head massage, Trisha a facial and Julia an ear candle treatment - Trisha and Julia then followed this with a refreshing swim before we all me tip again for a drink and a scone left over from the afternoon tea yesterday( breakfast today had also provided the butter and strawberry jam!- we figured a large breakfast and three course dinner meant that a scone would suffice for lunch).  Me - well I was doing some research for our next holiday!

Next up was a very interesting historic tour of the old house for a hour and a half.  In its time Littlecote House was the vase for Cromwell's planning and the American Air Force in the Second World War.  Much of the talk covered Tudor ( Henry VIII wooed Jane Seymour here), Elizabethan and Cromwellian times.  The Cromwellian chapel was beautiful but had very hard and high seats - clearly you would not be able to drop off to sleep in the middle of a sermon!

Next up was our beauty treatments - well some eyebrow shaping -before reaping the rewards of my earlier research! We, err, have booked for next year. This time we are heading for Herefordshire!  It was the nearest hotel to Warwick Castle and Leamington Spa - which we want to visit and, quite frankly, the deal was too good to pass up.  Next year's holiday will cost the same as this year's!!
