Forgetfulness - a sign of old age?

Last night was the first weigh in with a new leader and on a Wednesday (only 6 days in last week then!)  So I was really pleased to see the scales move - I lost 1 1/2 lbs - not the greatest but I will certainly take that one (particularly after our book club meal out!)

So this morning I woke up with a spring in my step.  On plan, foodwise, I decided to get some sewing done - unusual I know - and go out to the shops for the weekly shop around 10:30 / 11.  The sewing in question was the Anni Downs quilt - putting together this month's block ready for Sunday's meeting.  I must admit that I continue to be pleased with this quilt - particularly when you put the first three blocks together and you realise what you've achieved!

Anyway, back to my point.  As the sewing started to be finished a light bulb went off in my head - a friend was due to come around this afternoon for a cuppa and a catch up.  I had quite forgotten that we had moved her visit from Friday to today - oops!  All I can say is thank goodness that I remembered BEFORE I went out!  I guess that the shopping will wait until tomorrow then whilst the next couple of hours was spent on housework (well not hours you understand but it sounds good (or perhaps not - re-reading this makes my house sound like a real state!)!)  Anyway we had a good yarn whilst the dogs went mad - I am not sure she will thank me for this photo!

Back to this morning -  the dogs had been having a whale of a time playing whilst I sewed and then Daisy disappeared outside to play.  Perhaps that's why we then had a series of uncomfortable sleeping positions going on!

After my friend left I took the dogs up to the beach where they seemed to go through every puddle they could find!  Trust me I quickly shut the door to the lounge with its cream carpet when we returned!  Although the car said that the temperature was 7 degrees there was definitely some heat in the sun - I think that Spring is here at last!

Tonight's craft?  Well I have four berries to sew onto the Anni Downs quilt and then I think I might just get my "Quilter lives here" and work on a block - okay all, don't faint!!
