Last minute washing and ironing - check
Pack suitcase and weigh it - check (13.7 kg - I am allowed 23 kg so room for pressies to bring home!)
Take curtains down in lounge and wash them - check (yuk - very dusty!!)
Clean out fridge and stock for house sitter - check
Write instructions for house sitter (every house has it's foibles) - check
Check if hotel has free wifi - Julia wants to know - check (yes it has - and hairdryers Trisha)
Take down curtain pole in lounge and store - check
Take down roller blind in kitchen and store to measure for a new one - check
Clean and tidy around for the house sitter (some rooms may be a lost hope - they are storing furniture etc from the decorated rooms!) - check
Make cakes for the house sitter, the decorator and the gardeners - check
Get the equipment ready for the gardeners - check
Move the dogs bed out of the kitchen - check
Paint the drawers for the hall cupboard - check
Put the sewing machine to bed away from the dust and hassle - check
Wash all paint equipment and leave to dry - check
Move TV and tv unit out of lounge - check
Look out train tickets and details of plane tickets / Hotel - check
Charge up electrical items and pack charger - check
Pack flight bag - check
Set alarm clock - check
Print out the story of Aida so that I understand what's going on - check
Collapse and dream of long Italian meals under the warm stars - check!!!!!!!!!
I will try to blog from my holiday adventures - depending upon the availability of free wifi of course - but will be back before you know it!
Sorry for not commenting sooner, but I was so exhausted after reading you check list, I had to have a lie down to recover!!!! Hope you have a lovely time, and between your house sitter, decorator and Gardner, you should come back to a different home. Xxxx

ReplyDeleteWhy is it getting organised for a holiday is such hard work? If we didn't need a break before booking it, we certainly do after getting ready for it!
Hope you have a wonderful time, don't envy you the heat though! Keep cool and drink plenty water!

Definitely a little naughty me thinks! Interestingly enough there was an article in the paper today about how you are more stressed when you come home from a holiday than when you started!
