Escape to the county

What - another spelling error I hear you ask?  Nope - this really was a mystery tour which straddled two counties.

Today started slowly with the expectation that I would spend today packing and sorting - ready to travel home tomorrow.  That was until it was suggested that a trip out was in order.  Cue a trip to Dulverton which, unknown to me,  is in Somerset - not Devon.  In Dulverton we enjoyed a nice cuppa and slice of cake in a summer house followed by a wander around some lovely independent shops.  Next stop was in Dunster - also in Somerset but with a nice castle -  where we enjoyed a light lunch and more shopping - can you see a pattern here?  Suffice it to say that a potentially quiet day turned into a lovely day out!

Mike, my youngest brother, turned up tonight to see Dad - it's only a flying visit for one night before he starts his new job but he wanted to reassure himself as to Dad's health.   I'm grilling him as to whether to cancel sky tv and how to replace at economically - oh what must it be like to be so clever?

As you may imagine sewing is going to be limited tonight - I still have my packing to do!

  1. Ooo Dunster is on our "to do" list for hubbys photos. We have got one shot from a previous visit, but its not very good so we need to go back again.
Sounds like a lovely day out, and no doubt lovely to see baby bruvver!
What was the outcome of the Sky chat? We have cable... are you too far out in the sticks for that? Freeview not got enough choice?
    Safe driving tomorrow x

  2. I'm considering getting freesat and using now tv as the top ups to get the sky channels that I use. Mike wondered if you could use your sky box for freesat but research says you can't. It's not the number of channels but that I watch particular ones.

    1. Yeah, that's how it is with us, loads of channels but only a handful used.
We just did the Netflix trial but its not for us so wont be continuing. Have seen the Now TV ads recently and wondered how good it was, does it offer trials, or at the best a monthly contract that is easy to get out of?
