Last day of the royal visit - and another two coffee houses!

This morning was a lazy morning - one of those where there were no deadlines to work towards so we could please ourselves.  I started well with some more decluttering of the craft room (I have thrown out two suitcases of fabric so far!) and have some books and magazines to take to Scamblesby to see if they are wanted by anyone.  Then, whilst Mum packed up to go home tomorrow, I helped Dad with some information on Cash ISA's - not that I am an expert but two heads are often better than one!

After that we went out to Pennell's Garden Centre for Coffee and a cake - well it was their last day and I do have a card to stamp!  I also perused their dog store and bought Daisy a plastic soothing bone to chew on and a toy for her and Millie to play with (Maisie has pinched it at the moment!).  Then it was onto L & C fabrics to buy three moda scrap bags for friends who wanted them but couldn't get through.  I also bought a 6 1/2 inch square ruler - I suspect this could come in useful to square off my blocks in the Splendid Sampler challenge.  Whilst I was NOT shopping for fabric Mum and Dad popped to the newly opened stove store to ask for advice about electrical heaters.

By now, of course, it was lunchtime and so I took them to a venue they had not tried before - Petit Delights.  Dad and I ordered a starter - I had Smoked Haddock Risotto whilst Dad had Broccoli and Stilton soup - so that we could treat ourselves to a pud (Croissant Bread and Butter pudding with Butterscotch sauce - mmmmmmm).   Mum went the whole hog and had Fish and Chips - but she resisted the pudding - helping herself to ours instead!  All in all it was a lovely day and a great way to end their holiday on the windy east coast.

Once home it was time for Daisy to become a real dog - we went for a very short (and her first) walk - which consisted mainly of me pulling and her sitting down - but its a start!  I am hoping that, once up at the beach and seeing Millie run on ahead, then Daisy will lose her lead inhibitions.

Tonight is the usual Tuesday evening sewing class and so the rest of the afternoon was spent getting everything sorted and packed.  Its the start of the mystery quilt tonight - and the turn of purple!  Wish me luck!
